As with most other forms of mediumship the main purpose of Physical Mediumship is to prove continuity of life beyond the death of the physical body.

Within most forms of mediumship a Medium will invite Spirit to give a personal message to a recipient or recipients as validation of their loved ones continuing existence and consciousness. Such evidence may be profoundly moving for the recipient and may offer them great comfort. However, generally the message received is evidential to only the recipient, and not to others who may be witness to the message.

Physical Mediumship may work in a number of ways:

* Physical objects within a room may be seen to become moved, sometimes in red lighting conditions, when no sitter within the space has been responsible for the action. This movement defies known laws of physics and sets out to prove the presence of manipulating forces with greater knowledge than our own.

* Direct or independent voice phenomena may become demonstrated, such as will allow relatives and friends to hear their loved ones speaking, their voice clearly recognisable to them. This phenomena most often takes place in blackout conditions, because usually ectoplasm (which we understand to be a natural substance that is withdrawn from the body of the medium) is used to form an external voicebox. Ectoplasm, being a naturally occuring substance stored internally within the darkness of the body, is said to be light sensitive.

* The faces of loved ones may be seen to overlay that of the designated Medium. This phenomena is known as Transfiguration. Transfiguration is most often demonstrated in red light. Various forms of energy manipulation may allow such phenomena to become demonstrated.

* Solid physical form may become manifested and sitters may feel the touches of those living in the spirit world. This is known as Materialistion. Materialisation usually forms in blackout or in red lighting conditions. Ultimately, a sitter may become able to clearly see and feel their loved ones again.

We, in the lodge, wish to work for these things to become developed and demonstrated here. We accept that all that we hope for may not become achieved. We accept this and offer our open minds to the project. We are thankful to be making progress and have witnessed many of the things described above.

We wish to share our interest with others, so:

* Reports of most seances held here are available to be viewed. Some of the early reports may be of interest to those considering starting their own circles.

* Audio recordings are made within most seances and clips from these are made freely available on our web site.

* Two books have been published about the circle.

* Independently, magazine articles have been published by guests and visitors that have enjoyed their visits to the Lodge.

* Two guest places are made available, free of charge, within most seances held. This offers others the opportunity to experience for themselves what happens here.
